5 May 2022

Meta Engineering has acquired a 67% stake in Izharia Ingeniería, one of the benchmark engineering consultancy firms in Spain in the field of power generation, transportation and distribution, with a firm foothold in the renewable energy sector.

The deal, signed this Friday in Barcelona by Meta Engineering CEO Enric Font and Izharia Ingeniería founder and CEO Isabel López Ferrer, will help grow both companies, both in geographic scope and offering of services, as well as speeding up the international expansion of Izharia Ingeniería.

Izharia Ingeniería expects to see turnover of nearly €6 million in 2022, most from projects with Spanish power operators and for the main players in the renewables sector, with wind, solar and green hydrogen projects, an area in which the company has a noteworthy presence.

According to Meta Engineering CEO Enric Font, “This operation is a great step forward for the group. The possibilities for synergies, diversification in terms of geographic areas, clients and products, and the focus on sustainability that Izharia Ingeniería brings will allow the Meta group to accelerate growth and consolidate our place as one of the benchmark engineering firms in Spain.”

For her part, Izharia Ingeniería CEO Isabel López highlights, “Izharia Ingeniería joining the Meta group is a great opportunity for the international expansion of all our services, and will also help fuel our growth, scaling up our operations.”

This operation will have a significant international presence, with offices in Mexico, Panama, Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Guatemala, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic, and will have an aggregate turnover of 30 million euros by 2022.
