We have participated in a joint venture with IDOM, since 2013, in the Construction Management of the facilities (MEP) and architecture of the extension of line S1 of the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) in Terrassa (known as the “Terrassa Metro”) , which opened yesterday, July 28.
Barcelona, February 2015
The works have consisted of the supervision and control of the installation and architectural works for the construction of a 4.5 km tunnel and three stations, –Vallparadís Universitat, Terrassa Estació del Nord (interchange to be able to make transfers with the R4 lines and R12 of the Renfe commuter trains) and Terrassa Nacions Unides–, of the S1 line of the FGC in Terrassa, a city located 35 km from Barcelona.
The works have also included the construction of the building that houses the Can Roca Train Depot consisting of four tracks, three service platforms and a total capacity for 8 convoys of 4 cars, as well as the adaptation of some of the existing railway stations in said line.
The official inauguration was held yesterday, Tuesday, July 28, in which, among other attendees, representatives of our company, together with members of the regional and local government and the president of the FGC participated.
This metro line connects strategic points in the city and development areas, and the connection between the metropolitan area of Barcelona and the Vallés region is improved, as well as intermodality with the RENFE suburban network.
